A little gem on the boulevard - small studio, small class size. My son took a week of summer camp classes here and came home with amazing art projects! One of which was immediately framed and is displayed in our family room. My other kids now of course are begging for the experience as well. We will be back!

My daughter has been taking classes at The Arterie for 2 years. She loves the classes and how many different mediums and projects she gets to try.  The owner, Cara, is fantastic.  She is patient and encouraging, and her joy of creating art with children is palpable.  We have participated in weekly classes, as well as camps, and there is always a new variety of art work coming home to display.  I would highly recommend The Arterie and we look forward to being clients for a long time. -Leslie

I love that you are doing what you are doing, at the caliber that you are doing it, and for the price you are doing it so that as many people can access it as possible. So I will give a little more as long as I am able because it is so worth it!

I was a little concerned about her enjoying herself for an entire week, but in the end I think she could've done another week or more. (She has already asked if she can come again next year.) My son looks forward to going to Ms. Cara's Art class each week.  We are so impressed with the art that he is bringing home.  It is at a different level than anything he has brought home from any other class.  He is learning so much each week and enjoying it along the way.  He is excited about her upcoming Art Show.  So glad we found this Art Studio. -Lori D.

Cara has a sweet, very funny personality that is a hit with the kids. She was so good at explaining the art processes the kids would be using in language even the youngest can understand. The projects were engaging and beautiful, and the kids got very individual attention. I took an art class last night at the Arterie and it was really great! We did an awesome collage and paint piece that I enjoyed very much. Cara Franke was a great teacher, very patient with all the students. There were many adults there but she also has tons of classes for kids of all ages and summer camps! My kids (ages 6 and 10 when they started camp at The Arterie) have LOVED camp with Cara. Her background as both a teacher and an artist truly allows her to engage her students so that they feel safe in challenging themselves when learning something new. Her projects are creative and thoughtful. Her goal is not only for students to have fun, but to learn about color, space, lines, form, the works of other artists, and to enjoy the process of creating. My kids have attended several weeks of summer camp each year, as well as the mid-year school break camps offered. They can't wait "to get back into the studio" and proudly show off their work in their "gallery" at home. Cara takes the time to get to know her students, and knows how to help each one approach the projects if challenged. She is patient and nurturing. She creates a kid-friendly environment so that a student's autonomy and individuality can flourish. We are signed up for more camp this summer! I'll gladly be clearing some more wall space for this summer's creations.
