Wow in the World
We love a good podcast. Here's our top five and why we think they're pretty great.
Wow in the World: This podcast is the one that started it all in our house. And it's still our go-to when in the car. Hosted by Mindy Thomas and Guy Raz guide, listeners are taken on a "journey into the wonders of the world around them". It's an exploration of the coolest topics related to technology and science.
Story Pirates: A wildly entertaining series put on by improv comedians from the Upright Citizens Brigade and Groundlings, some of whom have gone on to Saturday Night Live. It's premise is set on stories written by kids and performed by the Story Pirates. It's hilarious and fun, great for road trips or a laugh on the way to school.
Circle Round: Geared for kids ages 4 to 10, Circle Round addresses topics such as kindness, generosity, and persistence through folktales. It's a great one to have on while making dinner or at bedtime.
Awesome with Alison: It's like having your own personal cheerleader in your pocket. Alison's episodes are full of insight into going after your dreams, overcoming anxiety, building mindfulness, making decisions...and she does it with with and humor.
Sounds of the Trail: Created by hikers, this podcast is for everyone. Contributors hike the Appalachian Trail and the Pacific Crest trail and "send back transmissions, updates, and interviews with other hikers...a podcast about the ups, downs, and switchbacks of trail life" (source).
