Animal Art
In our classes for kids ages 4-13, we have been spending a lot of time drawing and painting animals lately. Students have looked at how artists represent animals in their work and how animals have been represented over time. Students have used ink, pastel, charcoal, paint, collage and other materials to create a variety of animal art work. Students created their own mythological creatures, looked at sculptures of animals, and referenced imagery to create their pieces. This work was a perfect springboard from our investigations of pattern and texture as we were able to incorporate our previous learning to our animal art.
