Art Basics Class Series

Join us for the last of three evenings of art making using acrylics while learning: color mixing, composition, and blending, brushstrokes and tools. Each evening will combine technique and application while exploring art practice and offering live instruction to answer your questions.

We will work to complete an exercise and a complete painting:

  • *If you missed the first two workshops, a recording is available: Color Mixing color theory and a peach still life painting and Composition how to create an aesthetically pleasing piece and a landscape painting

  • Blending, Brushstroke and Tools: August 21: understanding gradients and building texture. Painting TBD.

Materials suggested for workshop:

  • 9x12” heavy weight paper, canvas, or cardboard (pre-painted white)

  • acrylic paint (primaries+black and white plus any colors you have)

  • assorted brushes (1/2” flat brush, size 8 round brush, liner/small detail brush)

  • palette (paper plates work!)

  • jar for wash water and towel or sponge to dry brushes

  • an additional suggested supply list will be emailed prior to the workshop.

$15/household for all three evenings.
